Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 1, 2026
This privacy policy explains what information econHQ (“we”, “us”) collects when you visit econhq.org, how it is used, and the choices you have. econHQ does not require you to create an account, and we do not ask you for personal information to use the site.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our web server automatically records basic technical information about each request, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested, the referring page and the date and time. We use these logs to keep the site secure, diagnose problems and understand overall traffic. Server logs are retained for a limited period and are not used to identify individual visitors.
Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. econHQ itself does not set cookies to track you, but the third-party services described below may set cookies or use similar technologies (such as local storage or device identifiers) when you visit the site.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site — for example, which pages are most popular and how people arrive at them. Google Analytics collects information such as pages visited, time on site, approximate location derived from your IP address, and device and browser information. We use this information only in aggregate. You can learn how Google uses this data at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services, and you can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Advertising (Google AdSense)
econHQ is free to use and is supported by advertising served by Google AdSense. In connection with that:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info/choices or, in the EU and UK, www.youronlinechoices.eu.
- Other third-party ad vendors or ad networks may also serve ads on this site. Where they do, they may use cookies, web beacons or similar technologies to measure ad effectiveness and personalize content.
For more information, see Google’s advertising policies and technologies. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are shown a consent message, provided through Google’s consent management tools, before personalized ads or non-essential cookies are used.
Information you send us
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message. We use this only to respond to you and we do not add you to any mailing list or share your message with third parties, except where required by law.
How we share information
We do not sell personal information. Apart from the analytics and advertising services described above, which process data under their own privacy policies, we share information only if required to by law or to protect the security of the site.
Your choices and rights
- You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking cookies does not prevent you from using econHQ.
- You can opt out of personalized advertising and of Google Analytics as described above.
- Depending on where you live — for example in California, Virginia, Colorado or other U.S. states with privacy laws, or in the EU or UK — you may have rights to request access to, correction of or deletion of personal information, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for targeted advertising. To make a request, contact us at the address below. Because we do not collect names or accounts, we may be limited in what information we can associate with you.
Children’s privacy
econHQ is a general-audience site and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Links to other websites
Our pages link to government agencies and other external sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to read their policies.
